Quick answer

Four hospitals in and around Surrey have a 24-hour emergency department: Surrey Memorial Hospital (13750 96th Avenue, Surrey, 604-581-2211), Peace Arch Hospital (15521 Russell Avenue, White Rock, 604-531-5512), Langley Memorial Hospital (22051 Fraser Highway, Langley, 604-514-6000) and Delta Hospital (5800 Mountain View Blvd, Delta, 604-946-1121). The Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre in Surrey does not offer emergency services. For a life-threatening emergency, call 911.

This guide covers the Fraser Health hospitals that serve Surrey, White Rock, Langley and Delta: where they are, whether they have an emergency department, what parking costs, how to check emergency wait times and when another option may be a better fit. We checked every address, phone number and parking rate on the official Fraser Health and HealthLink BC websites on September 25, 2026. This is general information, not medical advice.

Safety: If you think you or someone else has a life-threatening emergency, call 911 right away. Do not check wait times first. Fraser Health lists chest pains, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, broken or suspected broken bones, stroke or heart attack symptoms, symptoms of sepsis and pain in early pregnancy as examples of emergencies.

Emergency department wait times in Surrey and B.C.

Fraser Health's own address for wait times, fraserhealth.ca/ERwaits, sends you to the Emergency Department Wait Times site at edwaittimes.ca. That site is run jointly by Vancouver Coastal Health, Providence Health Care, Fraser Health and the Provincial Health Services Authority. You enter your address and it lists nearby emergency departments and Urgent and Primary Care Centres. When we checked on September 25, 2026, it listed Surrey Memorial (adult and pediatric), Peace Arch, Langley Memorial and Delta Hospital. Each of these Fraser Health emergency departments showed as "Open 24/7" rather than with a wait time in hours.

Where a time is shown, the site explains what it means:

  • Wait Time is how long it takes for 9 out of 10 patients to be seen by a physician (the 90th percentile). About 1 in 10 people may wait longer.
  • Estimated Length of Stay is the time from arrival to discharge home for 75 out of 100 patients. It does not include patients who are admitted.
  • Times refresh every 5 minutes and can change quickly. A serious crash, for example, can bring in many patients at once.
  • Most emergency departments get busy from about 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. They are also about 10% busier on Mondays.

The sickest patients are seen first. Fraser Health says it sees the sickest people first, no matter when they arrive or whether they come by ambulance. Someone who arrives after you may be treated before you. A triage nurse checks how sick or injured you are and decides how quickly you need to be seen. If you start to feel worse while you wait, tell the nurse.

For serious symptoms like chest pain, head injuries or a broken bone, it says to call 911 or go to the emergency department. Our guide to urgent care and walk-in clinics in Surrey lists every UPCC near you with hours. Keep our list of Surrey emergency and non-emergency numbers handy too.

What to bring to the emergency department

Fraser Health asks you to bring these if you can:

  • Your BC Services Card or CareCard, or your Personal Health Number. The registration clerk will ask for it.
  • A list of your current medications.
  • The name of your family doctor or nurse practitioner, if you have one. The clerk will confirm it with you.

If you do not speak or understand English well enough to talk about your health, staff can arrange a medical interpreter at any time during your visit.
